Following the decision at the AGM to introduce Membership for the Association, the Committee are proud to announce that online registration & payment for Membership of the Welsh Disabled Golf Association for 2015 is now available.
As we now have a formal Membership scheme the Race to Wales 2015 will only be open to Playing Members of the Association as will selection for the International Team. Others are welcome to compete for individual day prizes including the Welsh Open and the Brian Mayo Cup.
All forms of Membership come with a bag tag to identify yourself as a member of the Welsh Disabled Golf Association and other goodies as well as giving full access to the association competitions and helping to contribute to the running of the society.
To Note: New membership and insurance will commence 1st April 2015
There are 5 types of Membership available;
- Full Playing Member – £15
- Playing Member with own insurance – £12
- Student Member – £10
- Junior Member – Free
- Associate Member (non playing) – £10
As well as the other benefits of Membership, Full Playing Membership also includes Bronze Worldwide Golf Insurance from Golf Guard. Bronze cover includes;
Personal Liability Cover up to £5,000,000
Non-Negligence Cover up to £5,000 in respect of third party property damage
- Personal Accident Cover to £50,000
- Hole in One Cover up to £100
However, we must point out that this is playing insurance and does not cover the loss or damage to golfing equipment whilst on the golf course.
Please note individuals are responsible for checking that this insurance covers all of their needs and await confirmation of their Membership number from the Association Secretary before relying on this insurance cover for their golf.
For those who prefer to keep thier existing insurance. Please quote your current insurance details when checking out. These will need to be checked by the Society Secretary on the first society golf day you attend, when you can also collect your bag tag and other goodies.
This still entitles you to all other benefits of the Association including competing for the Race to Wales and the possibility of selection for the International Team.
Open to those aged 24 or under on 1 January 2015 or in Full-Time Education. Proof of age or Education status will need to be presented to the Association Secretary at the first golf day you attend.
Those who are aged 18 or under on 1 January 2015 who have had a golf lesson with a registered professional in the past 12 months are eligable for free Junior membership of the Welsh Disabled Golf Association. Associate Member (non playing) – £10
For those who wish to support the society but are not themselves a playing golfer. You will still recieve a bag tag and other goodies. You will get a vote in the AGM but are not eligable for the Race to Wales or International Team selection.
